Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 14, 2026

This policy describes Doc Scanner for Android. The app does not require an account and does not use a custom cloud backend for scanned documents. Doc Scanner is an advertising-supported free app, and this policy explains advertising-related data practices.

1. Who We Are

Doc Scanner is a document scanning app for Android. It helps users scan paper documents, generate PDFs, save scanned page images, manage pages, and extract text from scanned pages.

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, contact us at garciathais104@gmail.com.

No account required

Doc Scanner does not ask you to create an account or sign in.

Local document storage

Scanned documents, page images, PDFs, and OCR text are stored on your device by default.

No document upload to us

We do not operate a server that receives or stores your scanned documents.

Advertising supported

Advertising services process limited app, device, and ad interaction data to show and measure ads.

2. Information Processed by the App

Doc Scanner processes the following information to provide app functionality:

This information is used to make the app work, including scanning, previewing, saving, page management, PDF generation, image saving, and OCR features.

3. Information We Do Not Collect in the First Release

In the first release, Doc Scanner does not intentionally collect the following information to our own servers:

4. Camera, Files, and Device Permissions

Doc Scanner uses Android and Google Play services features to capture document scans. Depending on your device and Android version, the app or scanner flow may request access needed for document capture, saving images, or sharing exported files.

You can manage app permissions in Android system settings.

5. Local Storage and User Control

Saved documents are stored locally on your device. You can delete documents inside the app. Deleting a document removes the local PDF, page images, and saved OCR text managed by Doc Scanner.

If you export files, save images to your gallery, or share content with another app, those copies are controlled by the destination you selected. Deleting the document inside Doc Scanner may not delete copies you exported or shared elsewhere.

6. OCR and Google Play Services

Doc Scanner uses Google ML Kit / Google Play services capabilities for document scanning and text recognition. On some devices, Google Play services may download or update scanner or text recognition components before the feature opens.

Google Play services and Google ML Kit are provided by Google. Their processing and service behavior may be subject to Google's own terms and privacy practices. You can review Google's Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

7. Sharing and Exporting

Doc Scanner lets you share PDFs, save scanned images, or share OCR text. Sharing happens only when you choose a share, save, or export action.

When you share content with another app or service, that third party may process the content according to its own privacy policy. Please review the privacy practices of the app or service you choose.

8. Advertising

Doc Scanner is a free, advertising-supported app. Advertising services process information such as device identifiers, advertising identifiers, app interactions, ad interactions, diagnostics, approximate region, and related technical data.

This information is used to show ads, measure ad performance, limit repeated ads, prevent fraud and abuse, maintain advertising security, and comply with advertising rules.

Advertising partners process advertising-related information according to their own privacy policies and service terms. You can manage advertising identifier and personalization settings through Android or Google settings where available.

9. Analytics and Crash Reporting

Doc Scanner does not use a separate analytics SDK or crash reporting SDK controlled by us. Advertising services can process limited diagnostics and interaction data for ad delivery, measurement, security, and fraud prevention.

10. Data Retention

Local documents remain on your device until you delete them, clear app data, or uninstall the app. Exported files may remain in your gallery, file manager, cloud drive, email, messaging app, or other destination you selected.

11. Data Security

Doc Scanner is designed to keep scanned content local by default. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, but limiting unnecessary transmission helps reduce privacy risk. You should protect your device with a screen lock if your documents contain sensitive information.

12. Children's Privacy

Doc Scanner is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us so we can review the issue.

13. International Users

Doc Scanner is intended for Google Play users in multiple regions. Because the first release stores scanned content locally and does not require an account, most document content remains under your control on your device unless you export or share it.

14. Changes to This Policy

We update this Privacy Policy when features, SDKs, legal requirements, or data practices change. The updated version will show a new "Last updated" date.
